Sheridan Rotary Club raises $35,000 for local charities through ice fishing derby

The fifth annual Rotary Ice Fishing Derby, hosted by the Sheridan Rotary Club Feb. 22 at Lake DeSmet between Sheridan and Buffalo, was a one-day tournament featuring cash prizes for the three largest fish in four categories (trout, walleye, perch, and other).

Fish were measured for length and awarded the following prizes $1,000 for longest, $300 for second, and $200 for the third longest fish. No walleye were turned in. There were 327 entrants for the derby, raising $35,000 for local charities.
