Duck Adoptions Now Open for 3rd Annual Fort Collins Rotary Duck Race | Beneficiary Registration Remains Open Through July 12

Duck adoptions are officially open for the 3rd Annual Fort Collins Rotary Duck Race, returning August 29, 2026 to the Fort Collins City Park Pool Lazy River.

Hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Fort Collins Foothills and the Downtown Club, and presented by Fort Collins Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, the community fundraising event supports local nonprofits, youth programs, school clubs, and community organizations across Northern Colorado.

Community members can now adopt ducks at FCRotaryDuckRace.org in support of participating beneficiary organizations. Each duck adoption costs $25, with 80% of proceeds going directly back to the selected organization.

The event has already attracted strong community participation, with 24 beneficiary organizations currently signed up for the 2026 race. Eligible nonprofits and community groups still have time to join, with beneficiary registration remaining open through July 12.

“The Duck Race continues to grow because it gives organizations a simple, fun, and community-centered way to raise money,” said Kerrie Luginbill, Member of the Rotary Club of Fort Collins and member of the Duck Race planning committee. “We’re excited to officially open duck adoptions and continue building momentum toward race day.”

In 2025, the Fort Collins Rotary Duck Race raised more than $67,000 for 51 local organizations. Organizers aim to expand participation and increase community impact in 2026 through broader beneficiary involvement, expanded community partnerships, and increased public engagement.

Race day will feature a family-friendly festival atmosphere including food trucks, activities, sponsor booths, and multiple duck races throughout the day. Thousands of rubber ducks will race through the City Park Pool Lazy River, with top ducks advancing to a championship race where adopters can win cash prizes.

This year’s prizes include:

  • 1st Place: $5,000
  • 2nd Place: $3,000
  • 3rd Place: $1,000

Organizations eligible to participate include those with 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) status, as well as groups demonstrating a clear benefit to the local community.
